Cincinnati Board of HealthThe City of Cincinnati Board of Health is the governing body for The Cincinnati Health Department. The nine members are appointed by Mayor of Cincinnati and Approved by City Council.The Board of Health is responsible for developing public health policies and providing guidance to the Health Commissioner. The Board of Health also oversees public health and financial matters, among other responsibilities.

The City of Cincinnati Board of Health is the governing body for The Cincinnati Health Department. The nine members are appointed by Mayor of Cincinnati and Approved by City Council. They each serve three-year terms, which are renewable. The Board is governed by its by-laws and the power granted by the Charter of the City of Cincinnati. The Board of Health is responsible for developing public health policies and providing guidance to the Health Commissioner. The Board of Health also oversees public health and financial matters, among other responsibilities.
The Board of Health is responsible for the promotion, protection, and maintenance of the public’s health. This responsibility may be achieved by (but is not limited to) development and enforcement of health laws, prevention of disease, education, and curative and rehabilitation activities.
All Board of Health meetings are on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. unless otherwise posted.
