The board is meeting tonight at John Hay. The principals of the three schools in the John Hay campus will be presenting tonight. https://t.co/ETC39e1SiG
John Hay's cheerleaders, who are competing in a regional tournament, are called up to perform for the meeting. https://t.co/aJkGN4rLF7
Odell Brown is the principal of the Architecture and Design school and will show a video on the school and the work they do to help students moving forward to college or into entrepreneurship. https://t.co/R0j7jJj5Tw
This gal is the Senior Class President at the Early College school, she's Dance major, and will soon be graduating both high school and with an Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies. https://t.co/3O9D965PsC
Principal Michelle Perez from the school of Science and Medicine is talking about the accomplishments of their Pathways program that helps students explore STEM careers. https://t.co/iUSM50ODl6
Here's the Public Health & Policy field-of-study program. https://t.co/dRQHcTOTO6
An update on the new CEO search: a professional search firm was hired in November, and several informational meetings were held in the community with over 150 people attending. https://t.co/8DclOTYyYs
Students and parents' focus groups were also hosted recently to solicit input on the search.
There is a survey on @CLEMetroSchools' website on the CEO search, you can complete it here 👇

Board members are being recognised for their services with certificates of appreciation. https://t.co/l0qIgF9vcK
CEO Eric Gordon says 11 new security personnel started yesterday and they are making progress on filling safety & security positions. Feeds for 16 exterior cameras on school buildings around the city are now being shared with @CLEpolice for surveillance of the surrounding areas.
Gordon says Ted Ginn Sr. will be receiving an award tomorrow night from the Greater Cleveland Sports Association. #tarblooders
A federal program on affordable connectivity will become available to all CMSD parents regardless of income, you can receive $30 off your internet bill! 😮
Board Member Dr. Nigamanth Sridhar expresses his concerns about privacy and ownership of the data and images. Gordon says the data still belongs to CMSD and will be stored on their servers. https://t.co/3frcOtwLmy
Public comment has begun. This unidentified woman is a member of the Cleveland Teachers Union and is speaking about the CEO search. She says CTU is not getting a fair seat at the table in the search. https://t.co/PRQvEYpdcl
This woman is a 4th grade teacher and is providing public comment, also speaking up for the teachers' union & administrative staff. She is concerned about the lack of CTU voice in the search process and finding a replacement as good as Gordon. https://t.co/MK56kecs1Y
This CMSD teacher believes the search process has been impersonal, and that there's no repercussions for not hearing the voices of the teachers: "There is no one who's job it is to listen to us." https://t.co/BDDun04pPv
This CSMD staff member says she & other staff who witness violence and shooting of students aren't getting emotional support, and safety concerns are not being addressed. https://t.co/NrhcZUkv6W
This teacher says there are still still triggering moments from the murder of Pierre McCoy, and having to come back to work/school the next day was too much to ask of the teachers who experienced it. https://t.co/NIJSd46LdG
This young man is a teacher giving public comment with one of his students and his son. He feels schools that are not open all week are getting less security services in general than the schools that are open every day, https://t.co/HmylxlpJTK
And this chap and his friends are talking about getting jumped on an RTA train after school and the need for security & support on the way to and from school. https://t.co/7HZl4pH7HW
This brave young lady spoke up about the same incident and wants the school board to prioritise travel safety to & from school. Gordon tells the students to connect & share their video with staff so they can look into it. Another board member is in tears & offers them an apology. https://t.co/NQnDQFPjtw
This teacher is concerned about setting higher expectations for students. She says she sees a lot of apathetic students who are not ready for the world or to move on to college. https://t.co/RRXjNPSohk
As public commenters are leaving, the board continues on to approve resolutions discussed at their last work meeting, including a grant to receive updated security equipment. https://t.co/P1NoXTebgx
The board approves a resolution funding the purchase of new "nutrition vehicles". I'm not exactly sure I know what that is... ??
Board member Dr. Thomas offers her condolences to the John Adams staff & students who lost their student and classmate, Pierre McCoy.
The board is moving into executive session. They'll discuss more private business like new hires, staff suspensions, and salaries. They'll return to adjourn the meeting later. https://t.co/xt6dB6Yojf
Looks like we're officially adjourned, but the feed only just pooped back on here. https://t.co/y3nFceZP5z
OMG I meant "popped". 😂
That's ridiculous. I'm also totally leaving it there.
Howdy Ho! https://t.co/gerv8V33H1
