Director Harrington requests proactively that, as the work is completed, vaccine administration should be reported on, particularly the impact of the grant funding.

In the CCH Financial Update up to January 31st, CFO Pamela Cassara says the interim financials show that CCH ended with $24.4 million positive variance to budget. On a cash basis, revenues and expenses shows a $72.4 million positive variance.

Positive budgeting variance just means that actual revenue is higher than the budgeted revenue. Actual expenses are lower than the budgeted expenses.

Mark A. Wille, MD, is not sure why there was a bump in numbers, but says it may be attributed to re-education needed. He says quality improvement is a process that they are always improving on.

Ratna Kanumury– PA at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital– gives an update on Specialty Services. They found that primary care providers wanted more guidance on how to manage commonly referred conditions. So, they created a triage tool that would provide real-time assistance.

The next item is the approval of appointments and reappointments of Stroger Hospital. This includes the appointment of Manhal Khilfeh, MD to Division Chair of Neonatology. He has been with the organization since 1999, and has served as the interim chair for a while.
