Chair Reiter called the meeting to order at 9 am. The Chief Procurement Officer is presenting the Contracts And Procurement Items. All 23 contracts require committee approval. Director Harrington requests proactively that, as the work is completed, vaccine administration should be reported on, particularly the impact of the grant funding.

The report on Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) Participation showed that 33% of the money awarded went to contracts $150,000+ https://t.co/StWDW6zO19
In the CCH Financial Update up to January 31st, CFO Pamela Cassara says the interim financials show that CCH ended with $24.4 million positive variance to budget. On a cash basis, revenues and expenses shows a $72.4 million positive variance.
Positive budgeting variance just means that actual revenue is higher than the budgeted revenue. Actual expenses are lower than the budgeted expenses.
Cassara attributes Omicron to an increase in patient visits. On the in-patient side, visits have increased during COVID variant surges.

John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital (JSH) of Cook County joined ACS NSQIP in September 2014. In a report of return on investment comparing 7/2014-6/2015 to 1/2017-12/2017, this program helped avoid 96 events saving $237,210 annually.

Mark A. Wille, MD, is not sure why there was a bump in numbers, but says it may be attributed to re-education needed. He says quality improvement is a process that they are always improving on.
Ratna Kanumury– PA at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital– gives an update on Specialty Services. They found that primary care providers wanted more guidance on how to manage commonly referred conditions. So, they created a triage tool that would provide real-time assistance.
The next item is the approval of appointments and reappointments of Stroger Hospital. This includes the appointment of Manhal Khilfeh, MD to Division Chair of Neonatology. He has been with the organization since 1999, and has served as the interim chair for a while.
